Film i Väst is a regional film fund located on the Swedish west coast in Västra Götaland.
Its main headquarters are situated 70 km from Gothenburg, in Trollhattan, the leading film city in the country, affectionately referred to as Trollywood by local Swedes.
Film i Väst has directly contributed to the growth of the industry, the education of film workers,
and the development of new talents in the region. Now involved in 30-40 feature film co-productions each year, it is one of the most significant regional film funds in Europe and the most significant source of funding for films in Sweden, after the Swedish Film Institute. It acts as a co-producer, part owner and financier of feature, short and documentary films, drama for TV, and offers many additional resources for film production.
Film i Väst has participated in close to 400 feature film co-production, in addition to many TV dramas, shorts and documentaries. The facilities in Trollhättan includes production offices, one of the largest sound stages in Scandinavia, in addition to make up, costume and dressing rooms and an animation facility.
Film i Väst co-operate on long term basis with other public funds in Northern Europe.

Since Film i Västs inception Västra Götaland is now home to many film companies that include VFX, lighting, sound and picture edition, lighting and equipment rentals helping to establish Västra Götaland as the most prominent film region in Sweden.
